  1. Hi Ian, That's interesting what you say. I have always thought that if the cap fits & it requires force to fit, it will open at the stated pressure. If it fits, the spring is never coil-bound and will therefore move if pressure is reached. I have always assumed the spring rate on a rad cap is linear & therefore its rate is not affected by the load that is put on the spring. Cheers, Iain.
  2. Hi, How much fuel are you getting into your engine oil? Cheers, Iain.
  3. Hi, For a little more money, you can pick up a far better quality oil for £27 from Euro Car Parts: TRIPLE QX Fully Syn Engine Oil 5W-40 A3/B4 - 5Ltr. Cheers, Iain
  4. Hi, Our American friends fit Air shocks to raise the height. Fully adjustable & from Amazon. Cheers, Iain.
  5. Hi, If I had " given there are four white wires from two spade terminals." ' I would use an eight + some extra fuses bank. Cheers, Iain.
  6. Hi, Type 075 is a better choice than 063. Tayna.co.uk is an excellent place to buy from. Banner makes top-tier batteries. A stop-start AGM is fitted for only £80. Self-discharge is very low & resting voltage is noticeably higher. I do not have an OEM ACR alternator.
  7. Hi, I think that checking the plugs before the engine is at running temperature is futile. Cheers, Iain.
  8. Hi, I think fooling the car computer with bogus data is a bad idea. I would not recommend it. Cheers, Iain.
  9. I use Gummi Pflege Stift. Wonderful for rubbers.
  10. DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5, and DOT 5.1 are all synthetic. DOT 5 is the different chemistry.
  11. Hi, When I have had points always used a Fluke meter; It had duty cycle mode. A lot of the cheap Chinese meters have this function. It's quick to set the points to the advertised dwell/gap. The condenser value depends on the coil electrical specs, you could remove the internal and fit an external one of the correct Farad to prevent the metal transfer. I would never bother cleaning or filing the points; It never bought me joy. New ones always bought a smile. Cheers, Iain.
  12. Hi, I have heard the same. It is said that the gas air causes the incompatabilty problem with ABS. Vacuum or don't let the air get into the system seems the answer for ABS & DOT5? Cheers, Iain.
  13. Hi Doug. I wrongly assumed you had mentioned Methanol. Cheers, Iain.
  14. Hi Doug. Meths does not contain water unless water is added. Why do you think that? Cheers, Iain.
  15. Hi, those will be fine at the front with the standard 14 Watts per channel from a 4-channel radio. I would fit an Amp bridged to drive a single rear Bass speaker; 10” -12”. The spare 2 Ch would be used to drive two tweeters. Cheers, Iain.
  16. Hi, Use Prestone® Coolant. Good for any internal Combustion Engine. Cheers, Iain.
  17. Elbow grease (TM). It's safe for rubber(s). If you have some gay friends you can get it for free if you do not mind taking a finger from the pot.
  18. Hi DVD3500, As long as the switch operates @ more than a few percent of it's rated current, the contacts will last much, much longer than @ it's rated current. Cheers, Iain.
  19. Hi, and is wrong. You should say OR. No relay & they will last longer. Cheers, Iain.
  20. Hi Iain, Redline heavy shockproof 75-140 is a GL-5 Oil & likely to offend people. 😁 A good choice for a Diff. Cheers, Iain.
  21. Is the dash wood or plastic?
