  1. Last time I broke down when my homemade thermostat system broke down. I sat in the dark in a cul-de-sac waiting for the AA to transport me home. I was lucky enough to watch two young Lesbians doing their thing in the kitchen. If I had some baby oil I might have knocked on the window with my best smile. My cell phone was nearly flat hence no pictures, unfortunately. Just good memories from December 2018. But yes baby oil is a good hydraulic fluid. If it gets cold, sunflower is better. Always have phone power.
  2. AA & RAC membership. Tin of tyre weld. All the fluids. Bars leak. Euro first aid kit. Li ion power pack to start the engine, normally used for somebody else. Means to charge the phone. PS. CPS & TPS sensor. Fan belt. Panasonic Toughbook for ECU that is NOT left in the car.
  3. With a nice selection of wheels with ~30mm ET. Wheels stick in 10mm more than OEM.
  4. Looks like a ballast resistor. Is it a J-Type OD?
  5. What GT6 rear is it? What ratio diff? Cheers, Iain. PS Nice car. I like they have been able to use a spit bonnet.
  6. Here is one for the engine: http://www.tr6pi.com/TR6 workshop Manual.pdf
  7. Hi John, Nice idea. Had thought of mole-grips & a luggage scale. I am not going to bother now as the correct torque is what whatever it is I guess. When I get the car back I will try it and cut more off if I have to. Maybe I will keep a lookout for a weaker spring. Will give me a chance to try my homemade rocker cover gasket out. Cheers, Iain.
  8. Hi John, I don't have my car. Covid-19 & all that. It was a very strong spring. A quality spring best used elsewhere. When I used it a while ago, it did compress the valve springs so I could not rely on that function & just closed the gap and then counted the clicks. Should be OK now. I tried to measure the torque required now but my torque wrench does not go that low. Cheers, Iain.
  9. Hi, Tried junior hacksaw. would not cut. Dremmel works. One end off and still too tight. Other end off & now I can hold the screw end really tight and it clicks. Sorted. Endcap came off easy with a Stanley blade. Cheers, Iain Measurement after spring cut. Length before? No idea.
  10. Hi, Taking the "new" SPQR adjuster apart reveals the rather strong spring. I guess I cut a turn off? Cheers, Iain.
  11. & one thousand millimetres in a metre.
  12. Americans use mil a lot. Easy confused with MM when spoken!
  13. To be honest I found a calculator & google to be slower than my brain. Much slower. LOL.
  14. Hi, there are many different non-points triggered systems out there. Most I suspect output slightly less output than a perfect points triggered system with matching condensor. If you have the long lasting copper leads you might have to change them. If the electronic switching can work with a lower Ohm coil & the greater primary current it will take, why not? You might be able to use a higher efficiency horseshoe coil. Crank triggering with wasted spark is best of course. With Cam trigger & COP even better. LOL. Just saying, Iain.
  15. I know there is too many L's. Tape is expensive. Here is a mil to thou calculator. Enjoy. http://www.alcula.com/conversion/length/mil-to-thou/
  16. HI, just checked my SPQR tappet adjuster. 30 clicks a rev. What is the TPI of the adjustment screw? I will put a sticker on mine. Wonderful kit. Cheers, Iain.
  17. Club Triumphs website Forum must be located hosted on Pluto?
  18. There was me thinking the "home" page was being fixed. Ah well.
  19. Hi, I would have thought lube or not problems would only show as an oscillation on the needle at speeds under 70? Too much friction normally means not working or stripped gears? Input speed of the cable is always the same on output or cable is broken? The cable cannot cause an error in the display? Cheers, Iain.
  20. If cost is not a problem & its for a diff. RedLine makes some good gear oils. Their VI is generally 150+. A 75W/140 could be superior to a 80W/140. Don't use engine oil, AFF or mineral oils. LOL.
  21. I have used for over ten years. Only ever had a problem with kak H1 headlamps on a modern. I am sorry. Some LED car lamps are Kak.
