  1. If you set the back brakes up right, they work just as well. Have you done any work on the back brakes at all? If not i can guide you through it. Tony.
  2. I see what you mean about monitor colour. Just found a pic of the Stag in carmine, it has not been painted before. Tony.
  3. Is Nantwich to far for you to travel? I have a couple of mates with a Carmine red Stag and a bright red gt6 that you can look at in the flesh so to speak. I can send you pics of both before hand. Tony.
  4. Hi Colin, the best thing to do is to practice on a scrap piece of metal first, just get get the hang and feel of of it. Dont be afraid of it... It is really easy. I find helpfull to use a small square if you have one, to keep it straight. Tony.

  7. Sorry, i should have said its the wire in the dizzy that earths the base plate... So would not make any difference in a jump start. Tony.
  8. Another thing i forgot.... Earth wire in distributor, they can make or break even inside insulation. Tony.
  9. I have had that a couple of times, but not on a Triumph........ I ended up mounting the condensor on the bulkhead and had no more trouble after that. Tony.
  10. When i had my garage, which was attached to a petrol station....... A chap drove his car onto the forecourt with flames licking out of the bonnet........We grabbed fire extinguishers and managed to put it out before the fire brigade got there. His logic was.... As he did not have a fire extinguisher, surely a petrol station would...... I kid you not!!! Tony.
  11. They are very easy to do and was the norm years ago. I decided to re-line my Wolseley 1500 shoes as they were very expensive. Got a set of linings of ebay £12...Rivets £3, An hour later job done. Just wear a mask and do it outside if they are asbestos. You can still buy the rivet punch as that is the only "special" tool needed. Tony.
  12. Hi Wil, yes welcome to the forum..... Great bunch of guy's on here as i have found out being a newcomer. Tony.
  13. That trick was commonly used in the old days..... Does anyone still do it?? Tony.
  14. Hi Andrew, When you replace everything, you might find you will not get the drums back on..... This seems to happen a lot on your brake set up. This is due to pattern parts being not as "OE" If so you might have to grind a bit off the heel of the shoes. Hopefully you should be ok. Tony.
  15. This might help. Tony.
  16. No, I am not that lucky................Just my hairy ar**d mate, and i was'nt going to ask him if he was wearing them...... Tony.
  17. I once used them as an emergency fanbelt (yes i know) They got me home though. Tony.
  18. You missed out tie wraps..... Very important item Tony.
  19. Sorry, i cant open the video either, but as Pete say's it really does sound like an air leak? Do you have a stethoscope or a c/o meter? Tony.
  20. It is an old trick i agree, but cost of packing materials such as quality packing tape or box's or bags all come into the equation. The simple rule i have with fleabay.... If the postage is excessive dont buy..... Or ask for a reduction if you think they have got it wrong, as Fleabay have a postal estimator tool and some people just use that..... And it comes up with stupid prices. Also paypal and Fleabay charge you commision on postage, so if you send a parcel that would cost £2-90p They will want their cut as well. Tony.
  21. The problem with sending stuff to Northen Ireland, is when an item goes over 2 kilo's. Royal mail charges are silly and not all couriors will deliver if you live rural. Under 2 klio's should be the same as you still have a post code. Tony.
  22. Sledge hammer to crack a nut...... So to speak Tony.
