  1. You can see here the slots Colin's on about. But I don't think too useful for wax oil. Better would be to drill holes in the top of the sill under the door bottom to put waxoil then put grommets in
  2. OK hope you can enjoy during this time
  3. Thanks. Can you Let's know cost with post and I'll sort it.. You can pm me ilk look out for it
  4. thing is i guess brooky your like me we are trying to make the cars last forever, their gonna be better built than triumph production had time for anyway, i was a maintenence engineer before retiring so my brain thinks of ways to make future maintenence easier too.
  5. I thought of glueing mine on fist then maybe pop rivit, just pop rivit maybe too long and if you cut self tapper, too short. Some kinda 2 pack waterproof glue maybe then if you need to take them off should be easy
  6. I did my drip rails a while ago. Just cut all the drip rail off and the back out and welded in new. I've made new drip rails but haven't welded them on yet. Next for me is stone chip underside then paint colour on top.
  7. Hi brooky. Your lead loader must've been the same guy who did mine🤔 I've had the same problem in the same area. Mines cut out now but not welded new in yet
  8. i wonder if anyone has a spare one of these they could sell as mines is missing.
  9. Hi Adrian front green. Centre white. Rear brown.
  10. thats a worry adrian 😱
  11. isnt it great when you start to get a lick of paint on. the tub welding and repairs on my gt6 resto are done etch primed and brush painting with enamel paint this is the second coat. only took me 9 years to get this far ha
  12. sorry in page 1 0f this thread when i filled and sanded the roof its meant to read .1 or .2mm of filler just a wee bit.
  13. hi adrian, from your pic are you talking about the lip only or the bit going up to the main roof? its difficult too tell wheather the lumpy bits on the side ar filler or lead. if its just the lip i would cut it back level and make/fit a new one, anything bigger is a headache, be difficult to find a whole roof so youll probably have to cut out and repair, first thing is to strip the whole roof of paint and filler and asses whats there. good luck
  14. although i dont have a lathe ,i made this adaptor for my angle grinder, i used the old wheel clamp from my old knackered grinder and some pipe, i kept it all concentric so the wheels run true.it enables me to mount 50mm wheels to get into difficult areas. later i realized its also good for your worn angle grinding wheels and nylon stripping wheels you can get maximum use out of them. the 50mm wheels have a 10mm bore so go straight on, the 16mm holes in the larger wheels i have a spacer 16 o/d x10 i/d so i can mount these too. i know no guard i i dont recommend you trying it uness you have a lot of experience.
  15. hi doug, yes i read yours is origonal, but i think that the look of nigels and chris is better on the eye, mine anyway. thanks though.
  16. Thanks Chris. I'll file the pics and make similar yours is like nigels.
  17. Hi Chris. I did similar with mine when all paint and filler was off I felt with a glove on all the highs and lows and using hammer and dolly tapped down highs and raised lows. I then filled the whole front and long boarded down until I hit a few highs. At this point there's probably only. 1mm or. 2mm filler but it was level. First time for me doing this. I watched a few Americans on you tube though. This is my home made long board sander. Piece of plastic laminate floor and 2 old drawer handles. It's about 220 x 70 mm
  18. I thought that about production damage. I used to work for a car manufacturer and these days a damaged car to that levelis used as a pool car. But in the 70s they probably would fix it. Come to think it was made in Oct 72 but not shipped out until June 73. But on saying that I'm pretty sure this isn't the original body for the car as its magenta origoally and it should be pimento.
  19. Thanks for the answer nigel
  20. been stripping my roof back, luckily for me its ahd a repair section already, its been well fitted and lead loaded 90% he must have ran out of lead and just used filler, it was about 3mm deep, the roof had lost its shape .i striped it all off with those nylon stripping wheels, i cleaned it all out and re leaded it, there was a lot of distortion from the initial repair, i had to knock down some highs and knock up some lows, skim of filler and it came out good, still needs to finish sanding but ive no stopper . you can now see the proper shape of the roof, the front gutter is good but i wanted to know about the split for water, hence the question before.
  21. hi all, re the roof gutter , nigel is there a small split to let the water out like on old minis? just want to no as am doing my roof at the minute.
  22. hi during my resto of my late gt6, i found this, you have to wonder why. it looks like its been cut out then welded back in again as the paint is origonal , if so why was it cut out? strange, its a good full weld just wonder why.
