hello big fella and welcome, looks a decent road car, been retrimmed too, is it non overdrive box? or is there a separate switch?
some garage by the way looks professional. oh the joy of having that set up.
like the old p6 rovers clive they weren't structural either youd be surprised (maybe not) that garages used to fail the cars mot cause sills not welded, sometimes had to take workshop manual in to prove the sills were screwed on. one mot tester said to me once , "I know but I don't think its safe"
digressing though, its easy to screw a sill on to cover up the rust inside , im not saying this is the case here, but as you said needs taking off and a good look in there.
looks like a sill has been put on some time ago over rusty inners, and your right clive the sill will need to come off and access the area in there. should be able to do a decent job though. good luck.
hi, have a mk3 gt6, it had two handbrakes in the box, one straight one cranked, I found out the cranked on is from a spit 1500, it looks better
to use than the straight one, why did triumph change the design? anyone know
scouring my folders of pics, best I can come up with are these two. might help you out. the dash picture is from Lindsay Dearings beautifully restored gt6 hope he doesn't mind me sharing it, you can see the position of the trip reset winder, and the other is the ignition key light doesn't give much reference as to where but must be near the ignition switch.Hope it helps.
Haway Pete. We're talking royalty here. Surely they have to be expected to do the honest thing. Trouble is any admittance or charge by police isn't going to happen so they'll just say nowt so he can keep driving.
both my moderns also have stop/start and I switch it off every time, I did find out that you can permanently disable it by bridging the "bonnet open" sensor as it needs this to be closed to work, but I have not done it as its just as easy to switch off. the only other thing the car does is to switch off the radio every ten minutes when iam sitting in the car to save the battery for the stop start, this is a pain, but I live with it.
Guess you could empty out cleaner after use and fill basin with water and flush through. I don't expect it to last forever and a new pump can't be too costly.
Yeah failed with the sticky back plastic and wire coat hanger but wait!
Cover the outside of the basin in a sticky back plastic of your choosing. And get your dad to cut the coat hanger into a pair of tweezers to hold the carb parts while washing 🤯
