  1. I guess some folk may say, to vote on a subject that may have been portrayed with false promises, or even lies, is not democratic. I quite like the idea of a vintage tiger tail. Might have a look on ebay. PS. Quite a few on ebay, original are dear
  2. Do they still sell those. What a load of bunk. Surprised they can legally, never mind morally, make those claims. I suppose some people complain, hopefully get their money back. Others can't be bothered and that's a lot of money in the bank. And thanks for your response's.
  3. Hi folks. I'm not normally one for additives, though wondered about this for longer engine life, and are there any negatives please?. I have used twice in the past and didn't seem to to any harm, but does it do any good?. Thanks, Dave
  4. Thanks a lot. Will put on my "never ending" to do list. Bit cold to work on car outside at the mo. Didn't bother me much when I was a "young un". Just out of interest, are there alternative ways of removing pinion without the tool please. I imagine there hard to come by now, as well. cheers, Dave
  5. Hi. Has done this occasionally for a while. Now getting quite frequent. Grates and then seems like the pinion slides back. Will now do this for sometimes 3 attempts before pinion will engage with flywheel. Worn starter pinion/ring gear, or something else please anyone?. Thanks Dave
  6. Is it a myth, that Triumph boxes are easy to rebuild "correctly"?.
  7. It's a weekend away in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all the advice. Sounds great for a blast, and good views Pete. Cheers, Dave
  8. Intend to be going up and down Porlock Hill soon, apparently the steepest hill in the UK, Maybe 1 in 3 in parts. Any possible problem with oil starvation on Vitesse please, or am I being silly. Thanks, Dave
  9. Yes. As, long as ,therefore, they are treated with the same law as "commoners". And even then it will only be a minisule fraction of their "hard earned massive wealth". If they do get a ban, then, I guess, just pay the chauffeur, some more overtime.
  10. Then, apparently he got a warning in new car, for not wearing a seat belt. Does he think he's above the law (maybe he is, with just a warning?). Or maybe he forgot to put it on?.
  11. I thought only Britax were fitted to triumph's?, as more simple/budget than Webasto. Maybe people could specify a Webasto?. Dave
  12. Thanks, folks. It's for sale locally for around a tenner and wings have been cut off below swage line. Photos, show the side trim removed and some surface rust along those areas. I guess rot is likely, though hidden in the seams?. Also no photo of inside seams. Mine is in good nick and I was only thinking of getting it as a spare, in case of accident damage (girlfriend thinks I'm mad (and is probably right) , especially as would be storing it under the bed). Think, probably, best to leave it. Dave
  13. Hi. Anyone know if it's straightforward, to remove the the bonnet top section from the wings, without damage to the the bonnet Is it just tack welded to wings and just a case of grinding the tacks off please. Thanks, Dave
  14. Thanks Clive. I have some motor bike chain grease in aerosol that I could use. Just wondered, if it may insulate, rather than conduct, or if that even matters?. Dave
  15. Hi. Does anyone know of one (or alternative). Thought it would be a good idea, for lasting protection of electrical connections. Dave
  16. Can't remember, though was my girlfriends, so prob, washed to death.
  17. Mind you. I do find those trainer socks useful (after using a regular sock) to protect my phone. A rubber band longways secures it. Dave
  18. Hi Karl. Is that at the bottom of the dip in main rail, in the dif area. If so how do leaves get in there?. Dave
  19. Hi. Think this maybe a rear brake cylinder sticking a bit until has more pressure?. Cylinders are only a couple of years old and car is used regularly though. Anything else to look for please?. Thanks, Dave
  20. Doug. My spin on was on the car when I bought it, so I can't compare to without it. Did you notice any/much difference when you fitted yours?. Anyone else done this and what was the outcome?. Dave
  21. I have tried various brands of "anti drain" filter", though Vitesse will still rattle (sometimes after a restart of a only a few hours). I just try and ignore the noise even though it is perturbing! as has good oil pressure. D
  22. Just wondering if a crank regrind/new shells are actually needed?, as it is pretty common for these engines to knock/rattle for a couple of seconds on start up. Dave
  23. Unsure why "a bigger nob" would help give a G/B an easier life, as would be less feel (matron) on the selectors?. Dave
