  1. Bakewell PUDDING. I was brougt up on them being a local lad from Chesterfield. Haven't had one for years 😭😭😭
  2. I would just put it in a glass and drink it why waste all that effort someone went too. A bit like buying 0% beer 😨
  3. Beats glue sniffing I guess. Glues these days are "allegedly" healthier. Meths, oh how I miss the good old days! 💀Now I have to make do with tobacco and alcohol 🍷
  4. Surely all those miles in a modern would just prove how much more fun the Triumph is and encourage Anglefire to get out more in it? The case for the defence rests, m'lud.
  5. I have one for my 13/60 that looks like the CBS version. It fits flush unlike the photo posted by Dave Vitesse. I don't use it on a daily basis as I prefer the original non locking item.

    Capt Kirk to Scottie . . . . . . .
  7. Yes it is a nice example but there are many just as nice and as "original" as this but much cheaper.

Exactly the same for me. Plus, as we lived on a steep hill me, my brother and sister would look out of the front room window and "bet" to whether cars would make it or not. Of course being on a hill meant the slids were GREAT!
  9. Slick 50 Just thought I would remind everyone of the original thread Thread drift, that is the problem/advantage of this forum, even if the original topic is "wiggly widgets versus wobbly widgets" which wouldn't interest/concern me after a few replies I have to look at the thread to where it has gone to . . . 💨
  10. Further to that the UK is a member of the EEA via its membership of the EU. So once out of the EU it is out of the EEA until it can negotiate a new deal. . .Boy is it complicated... 2 years to sort it out? it takes longer than that to agree when they will have for lunch! Just seen a headline in Le Figaro - May wants to reopen the deal she has with the EU. . .2 months to go!
  11. The problem with that is here there is the free movement article. Once on the mainland there are no border checks within this zone, so if, for example, France did this visitors could then drive to Spain without any controls. I think the instant one country tried this the rest would jump on them.
  12. It is already clear that the EU will impose the same conditions on UK citizens coming here to europe that the UK has already implied it will introduce. EU citizens are already having to register in the UK. A couple of EU countries are looking to do the same for Brits living there. At present France is playing a "wait & see" card on the subject.
  13. Oh, well, that's all right then. db No need to cut you off, being an island that is already done. All it needs is a couple of lorry loads of ready mix poured into the tunnel and hey presto! Both parts of the Europe/UK system have very close ties, commercially, and relie on each other. For example 60% of UK medecines come from the EU and there are many EU medecines made in the UK, so it is in everyone's interest to agree. Mrs May needs an agreement as her treatment for diabetes come from the EU.
  14. Not only visas. As I've mentioned before I get all the Gov.UK guidline e mails and there are warnings that you will need to make sure your car insurance covers you in the EU/EEA when coming to the mainland. One of the mails I got yesterday evening gives a warning about health cover - European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) might not be valid any more and travellers would need extra travel health assurance in case of illness or accident. Lets hope the the EU/EEA will still allow RHD cars to come over . . . .👀
  15. Yes. It isn't any worse than the damage to wildlife caused by humans destroying the countryside and forests to grow fruit and vegetables. As I said humans are the planet's worst enemy. As Anglefire says in the scale of things this little rock isn't that important anyway, or is it? So far we haven't been able to contact any third party to give their view. 🚀📡
  16. Milk is good. I just made pancake mixture for breakfast. Humans are planet's worst enemy, but don't let on. 🌋🌍
  17. But when the young folk become old folk will they change their minds? Watch this space!
  18. The politicians didn't even know what they were letting the country in for. It hasn't changed they still don't know. Although I live in france & have French nationality (as well as British) I do keep a watch on the "progress", even to the point of having signed up to get all the notifications of every document issued, plans put in place or on standby etc including advice for UK nationals living in the various EU countries. Every time there has been one for Brits in France the info has been the same as always, with just a comment about how it might or might not change in the future. Does anyone know how much it is costing to do all this pre Brxit stuff? I get occasional updates on the sums spent on legal advice & communication fees. Hundreds of thousands at a time. Recently saw that the Gouv. had given out 3 contracts to shiping companies in case they are needed to increase the number of ferries across the channel. the total was £140 million. One of the contracts for £14 million went to Seaborne. A shipping company with no experience in lorry traffic, they don't have any suitable boats and are "planning" to put in place by mid March (i.e. they have nothing set up at present) to use Oostende and Ramsgate. Two ports that haven't done any cross channel shipping for around 4 years. Therefore no staff, equipment not serviced and acess not dredged. Heaven help us all... "We're all doomed" as the man said. My nearest cross channel ferry port, Ouistreham, does 3 crossings per day but have said that should there be no deal the extra delays in loading and unloading will reduce this to 2 per day. There are no winners with Brexit only various degrees of losers. Rant over, normal service can now resume. Why should I even care? I have French nationality am completely in the system (I'm even a local councillor) so no worries there. Oh, exchange rate! S**t, Both my State and private pensions have dropped in Euros since the referendum. I for one will be glad when it is all over and things settle down.
  19. Mine is an original, a friend in my local car club spotted some on a French site as part of an old garage clearing out. In all 4 of us in the club bought one. Yes a bit pricey but what the heck.... New and still in packaging
  20. Maybe we need to have a vote about "should we have a vote" Before that could even happen we need to vote about what the question will be. Anyway, back to the issue . . . Additives...... I've got one of those Esso tiger tails hanging on the rear view mirror and yes it does work. Although i'm not sure what it is supposed to do I am convinced that it does work, so there!
  21. I also did it back in the day in a Hillman Imp also several times for fun on a Triumph 650cc. When you are born and brought up in Derbyshire you don't need the 'flat'. Anything less than 1 in 5 counted as flat. Seeing these videos brought back fond memories. Thanks for posting.
  22. My Yeti has this type of system so it is "sort of" switchable. Also, it doesn't do it every time either - if electronics think it needs to stay on to keep car cool/hot, charge battery, make coffee or what ever . . . . Where I live and my normal routes it is very rare it is used. The first time I drove a car with SS was a hired Passat automatic, the first time I stopped was at pedestrian lights so the engine cut out. PANIC! took my a second, ok 2 seconds, to realise what it was!
