Hi
It attached to the chassis there's a hole cut to allow you to hook the connecting rod.
I'm afraid they are hens teeth to find and I've never been able to f8nd an equivalent. Your best place is specialist breakers like Spitfire graveyard
good Luck

Clive - you are totally correct - it can be, in fact there are replacement boxes available that are a fuse box when you convert to Dynamo. I converted mine myself

Hi Alberto and welcome
I run a mk1 gt6 and took it to central France a couple of years ago. I don't know if you remember but it was a hot June 40 + degrees and the only issue I had was in traffic where the car did get hot. I have a 3 core radiator fitted and spent a lot of time ensuring the engine cooling was working well and not clogged up.
Have you rebuilt the block? These get full of crud especially at the back. The block drain is a good way to tell. If water flows freely from the block drain, then that's a good sign
I will be adding a coweling around the fan to further improve cooling soon
Finally, it does get hot in the cabin what ever the weather!!!

If your selling it off Pete, I'd also be interested. It's one of my longer term projects, currently mine's black and a bit floppy, makes the car dark inside
Aidan
There's just one in the classifieds at the moment, and don't know what your budget is, but joining the club I'd your best bet in getting something decent unless your looking for a project car
Aidan
Just a thought but one thing no one seems to have mentioned, have you got the bleed nipples in the right place? Always in the top !
Important in both masters and slaves
Aidan
I'd love to try this, as although mine is pretty good, when it does get very hot and stood in a traffic jam for instance, it does get very hot
Not sure I have the fabrication skills though!
Aidan
Will be interested to see this Nigel. If you can give some instructions on how you made it and how it's attached, that would be really useful. Always thought of doing this
Aidan
Clive - I was expecting more marmite answers than that!, either you like them or you don't
I'm with Cookie on this one, as long as the standard system is in good condition, there's no need for an electric fan
Aidan
I'm also one of those mk1 owners and I'm surprised at only around 50 left!
Mine will be Sorned in August unfortunately as I just don't have the time to enjoy it this year
Aidan
Extension leads aren't a good solution! Each socket and plug makes more resistance in the circuit which makes more heat which in turn crates more resistance!!!
Suggest you get your cheap electrician to wire up a spur to your washing machine with decent cable min size 2.5 / 1.5
Aidan
Congrats Clive!
I'm planning a late career change! Will be moving from the Midlands to the South West in the next 1 to 2 years. But still too far from you Colin 🙄

The way I do it is to use a std 1 1/4 bolt on the back holes and tighten up (with washers if necessary) then fit the chrome bolts in the front holes and tighten. Take out the std ones and replace with the chrome
This way the carpet gets squashed and thats all that's needed

I adapted an old hole saw (the ones you use for cutting larger holes in ceilings for downlighters) it grabs all three pins so has an even force around the ring.
I had real problems using the screwdriver and hammer method (ham fisted maybe) the seal wrinkled and failed to seal
