Greetings to the wise ones. A humble follower seeks your help. Many times in the past I have been accused of having a screw loose but in fact I am missing one. Well, the car is at least. I haven't been able to find a reference for this screw I am sure that you will not only be able to give me a part number but, more usefully, the actual specification of it. No doubt an imperial size and with any luck my local John Deere tractor dealer will be able to sell me one. Thanks all

Export? I don't know if that is correct or not but I have fitted them to my 13/60. I suppose it is an 'export' in so much as I bought it in the UK and had delivered to me here in France.

Ok, so I've been looking at what is available her in France. Still reluctant to order from UK due to unclear position with courriers charging the earth for 'customs clearance'. I've got a lead on a possible one the thread is NPTF rather than NPT, looking them up I think it would be ok can anyone confirm this thanks.

Yes cats bringing in birds is the worse! Feathers everywhere, mice and the like are fine as long as they are dead on arrival or soon after 😖 It's when they put them down and go and have a snack then when they come back look surprised the mouse isn't there any more. While on the cat theme, we passed our interview and inspection last Saturday by a lost/abandoned cat and we are up to 4 now.

How old is the fuel? A few months shouldn't matter but a few years . . . I don't use my 13/60 over winter so it sits with whatever petrol is there at the end of the season and never had a problem.

A trying day without a completely positive result. Treat yourself to a glass or two of your favourite tipple, you deserve it.

For Heralds my book confirms 7 lb for 948, 1200 & 1250s from engine N° GA.240782.E 13 lb. 13/60 7 lb and from engine N° GE.22521.E 13 lb. My 13/60 from 1968 has the 13 lb, engine N° is after the cutoff I believe it to be the original. As for water level it says to fill to 1" below the filler neck to allow for expansion. Of course the 13/60 doesn't have the overflow bottle.

Maybe I'm being a bit obvious but have you used an infa red thermometer to confirm if it is actually too hot and where.

I would agree with you, most modern fuel pipe would be superior to our needs ( low pressure). From the numerous problems people have reported having I guess the pipe they have been sold isn't ethanol proof despite the sellers claims.
