  1. I'd go for the £45 option without hesitation. Just as a point in passing, when I took delivery of my Herald in 2015 it came with a brand new spare pump (County) still in the box. For ages I would carefully check out the existing pump ts see where it was leaking, why else would the PO have a new pump ready? Well still no leak . .😅
  2. NO! don't go looking for trouble! Trouble will find you easy enough 😲
  3. In a perfect world you would have the choice between cheap & low quality or more expensive and good quality. We would all then be able to make a clear choice. Unfortunately, as we all know, the world is far from perfect.
  4. OOOOHHH, something for me to look up on the webby thingy when I have a gap between cups of tea
  5. Low tech wins over high tech in my book every time
  6. I've been conned! Took Mrs Me to the rhumatologue yesterday and she was given a prescription for some more X rays, when done the rhumatologue wants to see then before deciding on any further action. Good I thought an excuse , sorry a reason, to take them over in the Herald. BUT the rhumatologue says we can just drop them in at the local pharmacy - run by her husband. DAMN! As Mrs me is having kine just by the pharmacy I don't get to use the Herald. Not to worry I have some glasses to collect next week so guess how I'll get there. Actually we're lucky here in that we are allowed out without restrictions of movement other than a 6pm curfew.
  7. The one I have doesn't have a hole in the centre and the fixing for the chain is a 'tab' (which unfortunately has broken) rather than the 'eyelet'. Differences are probably down to the make.
  8. So, you're expecting lockdown to last for how many years?
  9. I'll second that - it is THE best forum, shame about the people who post on it though 😊
  10. I've just got back from a 50 mile round trip to the Opthalmo. Open country roads very little traffic a bit cool on the back of the neck. 😁
  11. When I bought a set of LEDs for the same purpose the supplier actually pointed out not to use one on the ignition warning circuit, the set covered all the others.
  12. Lovely colour combination !
  13. That's my point, once the pipework isin place and purged of crud one filter before the pump should keep it clean?
  14. I have one just before the fuel pump and can't really see the advantage of a second one after that. Where would any deposits/impurities/slivers be coming from? If there are any in the system between the pump and carb then initially a filter would catch them but after that once cleared? I agree with Pete, the more you open up the system the more you risk leaks and contamination when replacing the filter. I've changed mine once in 5 years just because it became opaque. I cut it open and it looked pretty clean.

    Spare Wheel !

Yes we like pictures we're not good at writing
  16. Yes of course we'll still speak to you. Mind you what will be said is of course another matter 🤔
  17. Hi Paul, thanks for the info. I knew just as I posted my comments that someone would come along with advice. I'll look for similar products here in France
  18. I'd also be tempted by the stainless ones. I bought a set of chrome ones in 2016 and there are one or two tiny specks of rust showing. When I cleaned them at the weekend most disappeared just with a soapy clothe. I will give them a treatment, clear laqueur/nail polish when the weather is good and dry.
  19. This is NASA we're talking about they wouldn't use planks they would have spent millions to design a set of straight edges that were light and met their strict specifications. They'd have gone to Walmart. I checked mine today using the roof bars for the Yeti. Very professional looking.😁 The results have been passed to the number crunching department for analysis. Well, l'll look at them properly tomorrow 🤔
  20. Definitely makes a change, for the better, from lots of others. Simple and straight forward, the sort of chat that would happen at any meeting of old car owners. Well done. I would willingly watch more of them.
  21. Definitely! Well that would be my excuse reason for having taken it. Much better for the morale as well
  22. I'm waiting for my friend to confirm when he is going to have it done, the end of this month is when he hopes to take the items there so end March for finished results. I am going to ask him to take before photos or i will if I go with him. I will report back.
  23. My Yeti has them. Makes me smile when I start the car and it is facing the wall, the lights do their little dance! My previous Skoda had the turning headlights and the 'corner light' system; back in 2007 is was quite rare. Got to work one day and a guy told me only one of my front fog lights was working, I said thanks for the info - much easier than trying to explain the corner lights system 😇 Had to change a wiper blade today on the Skoda, wow! there is still something that can be done at home and the handbook doesn't tell me to see a specialist
