  3. I’ve got a similar one for my Vitesse . Works well , also has blue tooth Paul

  5. I went for Girling NOS and they have a high price tag nowadays Paul
  6. I used a magnet on a telescopic wand . The Vitesse required circlip removal which is out of sight , used a cheap 5 ins diameter mirror to view the clip . Worked well Paul
  7. I think it cost £300 plus . My modern has lots of small chips on the bonnet . Not down to the metal and wondered if a self applied ceramic coating would have prevented / reduced the chips .‘I’ve seen ceramic coating products which cost £30 to £100 just wondered if they were of any use Paul
  8. If the door is similar to my Vitesse door I removed each bolt , photographed in place , put in a plastic bag with a ref no then photographed again with the plastic bag in the photo . You will need to disconnect the winder before the window can be removed . For the Vitesse the 1/4 light needs removal before the window can be removed . Also all the trim / clips . when reassembling the window can be dropped to its lowest point and the 1/4 light refixed for spraying Paul
  9. Do these ceramic products work ? If so which products are recommended. Do they give some protection against stone chips Paul
  10. I purchased new from a similar source though no vernier scale Paul
  11. I think a new Watling is about £160 and if I was doing it again I would be purchasing new instead of second hand . Paul
  12. Slight thread drift Colin , where did you buy the 45d with vernier scale Paul
  13. Which tow bar have you got ? Mine is a Watling Here’s a link to a tow bar thread plus fitting instructions for the Watling . The other type is a witter tow bar which will require the rear bumper to be drilled to accept the towing hitch . The more popular is the Watling as no bumper modification is required and is still in production and available from the Club Shop Paul
  14. I would also use the Frost Metalprep as well as this treats any rust . To dry out I used a hot air blower Paul
  15. Hi looking to restore these CD’ s for my Vitesse . The links are damaged . What replacements can be recommended Paul
  16. Yes it’s a fibre glass insert with a sliding seat and a sliding rack for tools . It’s approx 2/3 height . It’s a mech mate , www.mech-mate.co.uk. it’s a great bit of kit , if you need more detailed info let me know Paul
  17. My Vitesse mk2 ranges from 22 to 29mpg though a 1500 mile Irish Trip over 2 weeks it averaged 29.5 mpg Paul
  18. If the Huco trial failed to solve the carb issue there’s a strong second hand value which should realise £30 plus Paul
  19. You would need one of these inertia switches https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/First-Inertia-Switch-Vehicle-Crash-Sensor-Ignition-Electric-Fuel-Pump-P4A2-/393117141535? Paul
  20. I’ve fitted a Huco which is suction pump and fitted in the engine bay in my Vitesse The psi is 2.2 and serves 2 Strombergs . More details if you need them here’s the spec , ignore the price as they available cheaper https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-14-V-2-2-PSI-0-15-bar-Low-Pressure-Fuel-Pump-HUCO-133010-Kit-Car-/254645067130?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338268676&toolid=10044&customid=CjwKCAjwx6WDBhBQEiwA_dP8rYUdi9jvfIaLiYEixX3Vvd2GkC-mtN8p0ZPcg5D9U5gCLBqkg7nlIxoCjHkQAvD_BwE Paul
  21. Use some gravel and agitate Paul
  22. I used the Frosts kit which adds a resin skin to the tank filling any perforations . These kits are like marmite . In my case following the instructions to the letter the kit has worked . I even had enough to complete a refurb spare tank I had acquired Paul
  23. I bought 2 of their cheapie jacks £24 each . 1 failed after 13 months and the repair kit would have been more than the original cost . The second one is working but not as efficient as the Aldi equivalents which have 3 year warranty Paul
  24. The pit has a 4 ins wide recessed ledge . Filled in with 2ins planks , works well Paul
