  1. Check there is not a small "grub" screw down the bottom of the hole?. Bit of a fish with a small screwdriver and/or Allen key might prove one way or the other?. Pete
  2. Some of the, un-facebook related "Forum" are extremely informative. ie; This one. And the Fiat Forum, are for me the the standouts. The problem with facebook on that score is too many "opinions" rather than proper guidance.? Pete
  3. They fitted that type of load sensing valve to some high spec; Fords in the 70`s. By the time they where a few years old most had seized solid and permanently bent the connections. Half the time they where just disconnected and the mechanical fittings removed. One of those "it seemed like a good idea at the time" jobby`s?. If I am correct My BX with the all singing Hydro-pneumatic suspension also had a similar device fitted in the braking system. Pete
  4. We had 3? I think of them in the engineering workshop at the tech college back in the (Dark ages??). actually not bad lathes. Pete
  5. If you need non return valves, Aquarium air kit suppliers are a cheap source. Bag of 4 for a fiver?, or less. Pete
  6. I am sure you can get adjustable brake bias valves?. Demon Tweeks?. Pete

Couple of "goldilocks" pan scrubbers?. Pack of 4 Local Pound shop.👍 Pete
  8. The thermostat, shouldn't open below 78degC anyway So IMV setting the fan cut in should surely be above that?. With a 4psi Rad Cap it won`t boil below about 107degC. Pete
  9. If this is what you are describing?. This is what Google brings up.:- https://www.google.com/search?q=Triumph+C-V+conversions&client=firefox-b-d&sxsrf=AOaemvILUUaT89dENKaz3pvjTX9RQLPHQA%3A1636271596030&ei=7IWHYeiXAdKx8gLn9prIDg&oq=Triumph+C-V+conversions&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAM6BwgjELADECc6BwgAEEcQsAM6BAghEApKBAhBGABQwAtYixRg7R9oAXACeACAAU2IAf8DkgEBN5gBAKABAcgBCcABAQ&sclient=gws-wiz&ved=0ahUKEwjovfLZ4oX0AhXSmFwKHWe7BukQ4dUDCA0&uact=5 Pete

Right! That`s me Lost!. Playing instruments is not in my ??? anything??, really. My youngest can (could). Me useless!!. I admire those who can, although many of those I did admire have as we tend to say "Crossed the bar". Very sad to watch Glen Campbell`s last concert. Maybe he shouldn't have done it?. But despite his affliction the magic was still there in the musicianship if not his ability to remember the words. RIP. Pete.

The story of many a Petrolheads life?.😭 And likely the reason why so many "Greybeards" finish up on these forum too?. Pete
  13. Because I`ve had a "personal issue" that has kept me out of the garage this last week. I had a couple of days "binging" the T-V. Amongst it a whole series of Bangers and Cash. What was most interesting, apart from the eclectic selection of vehicles, was the prices many expected for their vehicles, Some nice stuff fetching fair prices but few actually reaching the reserve?. but the odd one would go mental?. But the Farmer, with up to 200 cars in his barns,????? (Shakes Head) "I like "evo`s"" (He`s got 6!!!) Pete
  14. I can tell you the CB is a Herald box. Mine is CB22**** in 1971 reg 13/60 Convertible. Pete
  15. Folk thinking "Rareity Value" = High Price?. That 12/50 is In my view a typical example?. Pete
  16. Failing to Dipp??. Hereabouts, it has always seemed confined to BMW`s/Audi`s OR small SUV`s driven by? Errrrrr Young "ladies"?. I sat alongside my oldest graddaughter one time, she said the cars are flashing at me?. Errrr? Yes? might have to do with you being on Main beam?. Thinking about swapping sides, It`s usually more a question of the heat of battle where the wrong decision is made?. Over the years I have managed to drive just about anything on wheels, or tracks, for that matter. Manual/Auto, LH/RH drive swapping from one to the other with no issues. Pete

AS said, My "go to" is always the "shop" compressor too even if I have to attach several extensions to get there. But when your on site it`s not always convenient. (unless I have a bloody long hose?😁) That`s when a decent portable comes into it`s own, even a crap one can get you out of "bovver". ie enough air in a tyre to get you off the main road. My (older Fiat) one is capable of putting air in 16" truck tyres, so is the "Ring" one, (pressy from the grand-kids), albeit much slower. Pete

Despite the comment about Lada`s In recent time, I have had 4 Fiat Punto`s in quick succession. (They are ideal, Cheap, cars to fit a drawbar too and tow behind a Motorhome) ALL eventually failed MOT on chassis/welding. But the 1200 16V Engine!, is a real "Pocket Rocket". And has seen more than one "sport car" off. The 1400version is something else!. Pete

    LIDL/ALDI TOOLS

Don`t know, but a guy on one of the Motorhome Websites has one, he bought last year, and reckons it will do Motorhome tyres OK?. If that`s anything to go by Mine are R235/65 R16`s? Pete
  20. You are of course correct. It was a change "forced" on us by the Foreign Manufacturers (Not the EU for once) who wanted not to have to change sides just for a "minority" of countries who drove on the right. Speaking only for the Herald (13/60). I can see it would not be hard to accomplish in order not to have the embarrassment of putting the wrong switch on in the wrong situation?. Pete

Part of the alleged issue with "Russian Steel" was the percentage of "Scrap" which was added to the mix was far greater than was used (say) in the UK, this was thought to make the final steel less stable and more prone to failure and corrosion. Japan and China where supposedly similarly affected during the same period. My son`s Japanese car of the era was like a lace curtain in parts before he scrapped it. I believe Fiat sourced steel from both sources at some point?. Pete
