  1. Taken for a long run, no leaks and temp apserlutly spot on.
  2. Took for a short run to blow the bubbles out, as i pulled out from the drive second gear was notchy. Run round the block , lot lighter clutch. Changed easy, easy to get out of gear . Once warmed up second fine. Success. Almost, no overdrive. Got home a quick check found i had not conected the wires to the gearbox in the engine bay! Checked levels and went for a medium run, to the petrol station then round a big loop with country lanes, big roads and villages. The temp stuck at between a quarter and halfway. Stopped for a photo and look at my phone, temp half way but soon dropped back to normal. Everything ran as expected apart from no overdrive! I now know why it is called blowing out the cobwebs! The vents opened up and lots of old leaves and dust went all over me. It was hard work but it now selects without wobble and slides in and out of gear smoothly. Just got to get the overdrive working again.
  3. Dont use stainless! Not so bad on our cast iron heads but stainless and alloy do not mix well. Something to do with indifferent metals, corrosion occurs.
  4. The only problem with that is there would not be 36 years of hindsight on it.
  5. Just drive pete, it only matters if it bothers you.
  6. With the cvh fords i used to clean out the rocker cover and change the oil every 6k. They still collected sludge in the rocker cover but they kept going.
  7. Getting down and under the car is easy, its the getting up, having to turn round to push down or find something to hold on to to pull you up. When i got arthritis i sold everything thinking working and driving low cars was no longer an option. I soon realized sod it and just adapt . When someone says you can't i just think, you restrict yourself and do it if i want too. I know i can't lift heavy objects now and my movement is restricted but i just change the way i move around and use tools/hoists to get round others.
  8. I know what it is, you need more people to bounce your content count up! Do you get two red stars at 20k?? But seriously well done, everything that gets people involved and helps members is a great thing. 👍
  9. Some engines are more prone to sludge, thinking some of the fords i have had in the past, mind you that may have had something to do with the cheaper oils i used to use!
  10. Got same fronts as yours pete but i modified the runners to fit the original holes in the floor and used imperial allen bolts to fix. The rear did not fit the estate.
  11. All back to gether . Ran for a short while in the garage. Warmed and topped water as it run. Will check levels tomorrow and take for a run.
  12. If anyone knows or can recommend, i put alfa leather front seats but trying to match the back on an estate is a nightmare.
  13. Onto about email twenty! Starting to go my way, they have admitted to an overcharge (although not at first)but not the returned items now! Not going to drop it now, day three tomorrow. Although back on topic, have been under and on top of car to get this water pipe on. Looks like a late one as still starter and exhaust to manifold to fit , had to stop as a delivery's on its way!
  14. Lot neater Fingers crossed.
  15. Finally out in the garage! Luckily did not pre clamp the olive, pipe fully in and its a tad too long!
  16. Suggest they make them thiner, everybody a winner
  17. I have got to get under the 2500s but been locked in an argument about being overcharged by over 50 pounds by a parts company. Somehow the kit cost is broken down to charge less so i have been charged more for the sum of parts when i ordered the kit.!
  18. Yea got told off for where i photoed them. Still theres all the other times she didn't catch me 😄
  19. They never close, it may take years but someone will drag it back up😄
