  1. Love the looking around the problem, a solution that is practical and will look period 👍
  2. Probably will have to wait as well, hopefully when back together will be ok, been distracted today. Will have to phone tomorrow. Looking like i will go for the middle option on the carpet. I have decided to concentrate on the 2500s this year. Get it running well and looking fine. I have a few improvement plans for the puma spitfire that will wait till either late this year or early next. The yellow spitfire will progress once the 2500s is ok, but only with bits i already have. I Probably have all i need apart from seats (was going to use the puma spitfire ones and replace them). Still its good to hear others experience before i spend out. On the carpet, thanks for the heads up on coverdale, unless anybody says otherwise or said there is a big difference between the second and third option i will go to the second option. Pete, had you not considered rimmers exhaust system? I will ring CW tomorrow and find out obout their's. My system at the moment is close to the propshaft near the diff and there are some marks on the propshaft. This i suspect is why one of the boxes has recieved a few large hammer blows. I am on holiday till the 26th and want to take it on the norfolk area treasure hunt on the 25th.
  3. Looked, non in stock on website. Like alot on his site, will check again later.
  4. Thats glued to my hand! If in doubt thump it. Cling film over brushes over night if your using them the next day save time/cleaning and brushes.
  5. They look alright pete. But which one to go for? Anyone had one of there carpets? I think i got one for my 13/60 many years ago at a show but not sure.
  6. Welcome. Though i would start your plus points on the side of your name. You have alot of typing to catch up with pete.
  7. As my 2500s is getting more to how it should be ! Has anyone got some recommendations to exhausts preferably stainless as mine looks horrible and someone took a hammer to one of the boxes in the past . Also the carpet has seen better days . The back where in the past water has sat particularly poor. In the past i have bought carpet on a rool and cut my own section. This i might still do but i would prefer a nice fitted one.
  8. Thanks, best sticking (hopefully to the road) with what i have running 45 on 16, plenty of grip. I would drop to 15inch if i could find a set i liked! I like the 11 spoke too much!
  9. Thinking of changing my pumaspits 1/2 lowering block to the full inch. It still sits with wheels upright. Sometimes slightly out at the bottom but you have to sqint to see it. Whats everyones thoughts . I already have the longer studs fitted.
  10. I used copper slip between and waxoil over, purely as anti corrosion. Originally nothing was used as standard and they rusted together as it was pretty much fit and forget.
  11. Yes it is normal, the grease is to aid assembly and protect the new seal from damage. If building to store use the grease, if using strait away you can use brake fluid to lubricate.
  12. Numpty9 on ebay, or robsport in Cambridgeshire, the place that manly do stags. Got a few things through the post, always been good, helpful on the phone but even though i have travelled past many times i have never been in.
  13. That looks like chemical attack! We have that on our kettle actuators, the cleaners put some horrible chemicals to get the burnt on sauces off, all alloy just crumbles after a while. No progress today, tired after last nights shift and i cut my finger getting a blind bearing out of a roller housing . I want it to skin over a bit before gloves over. I did get this through the post ready for tomorrow .
  14. Definitely check the rear brake adjusters. You could be making the cylinders travel too far
  15. Sorry the picture does not work for me. The original was just like the clutch, but bigger! A clutch one would work, it all depends how much fluid you want to push for the bore size. Generally the bigger the bore the harder the pedal but the more pressure could be put to 🐻. With a servo alot of pressure , without could be a pain.
  16. I had this when i first got my spitfire, the first 31 years ago. Turned out i was a bit heavy handed and overtightened the screw after cleaned the filter . I ruined the lid and it would not seal after, always a slight dampness round the lid. In the end i bought a new pump and became alot more careful tightening smaller bolts. One day i might master that!
  17. Looking good, welcome to these pages
  18. The quieter inside the faster you go! When you are used to how the engine sounds you tend to drive to it! Or is that just me.
  19. Both ways but easier to unbolt all and take out through side allowing you to get your hand in and wiggle it up and through.
  20. Just a clear up today and getting all the bits ready for tomorrow, new mount arrives tomorrow. Can't believe i had two spare exhaust clamps the right size! Shows if you wait long enough you will use it . And when i cleared up i found the old spigot bush! Must have fallen out as i pulled the old flywheel out.
