  1. If its low you could add washers under the bracket the ols lucas switches were a SA141 or similar like the one in your reverse switch some had long threads you had thin nuts to make it adjustable, later just had the fibre shims, , so would a rise in brkt height and a bend make it workable ?? pete

  8. Yes dont waste money on any addative a complete waste of time and funds use 97+ron fuel and run it till a problem appears , then if heads off get some exhaust inserts the lead memory dougs mentioned will out last you useage if you xo a lot of hard motoring and you find valve cleances are closing then valve recession is developing so save your money to buy more fuel and use the car with a smile pete

  10. If thd solenoid gets excessively hot then the holding coil is failing and the 10amp is not cutting back the switch in the end of the sol get very corroded , old can be cleaned newer is solidstate you can fiddle the bottom screw out if you stick short tube over the screwdriver to keep it on the screw head its a pain to remove. use socket cap screws when replacing pete
  11. Blue still decouples noise and ride were red are very hard and transmit every pimple in the road into the body more for racers than any form of comfort just a view pete
  12. Any thread loc or hard setting sealer I swear by 574 its a multi gasket which sets hard once air is excluded I use it in far more applicatioms than its concept when its set you wont need a pin ha !, pete
  13. The 69 white 13/60 is a herts and beds car (st neots)its on both club adverts. very sound, worth a look , pete
  14. Clutch clearing relies on the hydraulics and their controls pedals and rods actually depressing the diaphragm enough to release the disc and allow engagement, the fact is hard in first shows the synchro is baulking the engagement same as reverse crashing but it wont let you in , its a clutch problem, and will be anything from a simple bleed required to a distorted disc or broken diaphragm
  15. Assemble with some loctite before locking with pin should work pete
  16. Afraid its a tunnel out job, the switch is in a brkt, on front of the remote assy adjustment is by thinncard shim washers btween switch and bracket I would take any fitted out. if there are none then its new switch or bend the bracket you can with care strip ,/uncrimp the switch its likely to be green inside. pete
  17. Repaired a broken overider nutting with a stud with nut either side , and used wing nuts inside the boot to aid future removal,
  18. Doug has to squeak its in his jeans .... rusty legs Pete
  19. ask dave at canley classics , maybe mick dolphin but a part number would be nice , anyone got a parts manual
  20. afraid its H frame and tunnel out and remove the remote assi from the top of the gearbox ive found a few where for reasons that bug me the square headed tapered dowel bolt on the front selector rod . the selector is loosish on the rod ,in as much as you can see the lever is moving on the rod. but the dowel is screwed/rammed home and is as tight as tight can be undoing the thing can reduce you to tears and a wrecked dowel bolt is a small point but this can add to any already slack in the section. i now have an avid hate of dowel bolts pete
  21. think most club shop originate from superflex ..... chris witors side line http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=SF498-0645K
  22. do you have a parts list or part number to help trace , ?? that looks more like a subframe mount than engine mount but there s not many around we have a 1500 in the area , and that seems listed as engine mounts specific to 1500fwd i have no idea of the variance , but they are available Pete
