Is the welder practical for bodywork ? Paul
  11. Is it both carbs leaking or just one . I had the same issue with the rear carb on my Vitesse , and rubber slivers were holding the float valve open . I also replaced the fuel pump with a modern copy and this made it worse , too much pressure . Suggest reconditioning your old one or move to electric fuel pump. I chose the latter and now use a Huco 13301 , nice bit of kit . Paul
  12. I use https://www.classic-oils.net/Classic-Oils-Heritage-20W50 in my Vitesse and Castrol EP90 in the Gearbox and Diff nb 20/50 also used for Stromburg dampers Paul
  13. Welcome aboard , loads of help and advice here though we do like photos . A couple of suggestions don’t purchase R 9 from EBay as there’s a lot of fake . How do I know ? Best to buy Gates Barricade . The club shop sells this brand so does Moss . If you do go down the route of an electric fuel pump I used the Huco 133010 which is a pull pump and situated in the engine bay . In my Vitesse it’s by the battery . There is no need for a pressure gauge . Target price £45 ish . You would also need an inertia switch Paul
  14. Stunning motor, saw it last weekend when collecting a gearbox . The photos don’t do it justice . Simon, Rays son said the engine was special as ex police . Paul

  18. My Vitesse would “ hesitate” going up hill , the problem as sorted by retarding the timing . Just one idea to start looking at Paul
  19. I used POR 15 on my tank and it’s fine . The Rustbuster solution is cheaper and the brand seems to have a good reputation Paul
  20. Personally can’t recommend AT . The refurbed Strombergs I bought were very shiny but needed rebuilding . Maybe it was a one off Paul
  21. I’ve found a guy in France who replaces sunroofs on classics and he will hopefully answer my questions . I’ll check YouTube again to see if I can find Paul
