  1. Decided to refurbish the remote today to the extent of changing the O rings, had the kit for a long time bushes nice and tight and no sharp edges on metal bits. Only thing that surprised me was that there was slight movement between the wedglok bolt and the selector lever, put the bolt back with some threadlock. Regards Paul.
  2. Part number 122806 Plate, nave. Part number 134336 Nave plate removal tool. Vitesse 1600 & 2L parts manual. Regards Paul
  3. Used to set fire to steel wool, so be careful your steel car doesn't burst into flames 😊😊. Regards Paul

Stopped using additive in my Mk1 2L Vitesse, seemed to run better without. Had a head gasket failure the other year and didn't bother with an unleaded conversion to valve seats as all ok. Have always used super unleaded. Regards Paul
  5. Never remove the air line from the wheel while there is pressure and some brake fluid in the system, brake fluid will spray out of the airline. Happened to me but fortunately silicone brake fluid but still messy to clear up. Always found it difficult to get an airtight seal on the unit, so as said above check before adding brake fluid. Regards Paul

Fitted J type overdrive to my Mk1 2L CV years ago, you lose about 1000rpm at 70mph. J type never fitted as standard but arguably a better unit. Regards Paul
  7. With the puller in place and hub under tension my method is to push from one side of the puller with my biggest hammer then hit the puller opposite with next biggest. Shock is then in line with the car and not across it so no shock to UJ excreta. Regards Paul.
  8. Out in the Vitesse CV with the roof down yesterday to do my shopping, and super unleaded at £1.55.9, pleasant enough day for a drive. Regards Paul
  9. Have you tried Chris Witor?. When I did the head on my Mk1 Vitesse last year I used mini flanged head nuts without washers, just saying. Regards Paul
  10. Thanks for the replies, won't be fitting them to my Vitesse. Regards Paul.
  11. Been given these two four inch gauges. The rev counter RVI 2631/00 Negative earth with paper label on back 401 Oil etc? IP 3225/00A paper labels 151 and 131 Oil pressure is capillary tube type. Any ideas from what?. Regards Paul.

  13. Did get so motivation Sunday and cut the grass, seemed strange doing it in January. Regards Paul.
  14. If you find some could do with the spare for this. Regards Paul.
  15. Must admit very reluctant to lend tools as it seems to be my fault if they break, don't do the job properly and in today's environment god knows what would happen if they injured themselves while using it. Regards Paul.
  16. Been in local Lidl today, battery charger, 12V Oil Pump, impact wrench both mains and battery with battery and charger included. Use my impact wrench quite a bit on the car and with an adaptor for hex drive bits installing longer screws in timber. Regards Paul.
  17. Sounds similar to the roof on a 309 I owned back in the late eighties, the seals were inflated and deflated when the handle was used. Regards Paul.
  18. I seem to solve the same problem by building another shed, when I bought my Vitesse, single garage no shed, currently double 20ft. garage and three sheds with racking in spare bedroom. Not to mention stuff stored in drawers under the bed. Regards Paul.
  19. Hermes, perhaps just behind the plot in Norfolk. Regards Paul
  20. Bought a stretcher shrinker of eBay yesterday, Thursday, afternoon delivered before 1pm today, Friday. Had a quick play and it seems to work ok. Regards Paul
  21. Using a Gunson Eezibleed disconnected the line to the tyre providing the pressure first, sprayed brake fluid, fortunately Dot5, a surprising distance. Regards Paul
  22. Have used Dot5 in my Vitesse for over twenty years, the instructions for the servo, Taiwanese copy of a Lockheed unit, said not to use it but so far so good. Lot of don't use is just ass covering in my opinion. Regards Paul
  23. Would look good in polished stainless steel, might have a go in the new year, maybe. Regards Paul
