  1. No place for stabilizer and four inch guage, as temperature and fuel guages are not slow reaction type assumed a voltage stabilizer was not used. Regards Paul
  2. Been looking at the instruments in a spare dash which has the Vitesse script on it. Rev counter is missing Speedo reads to 110 and does not have place on back for voltage stabilizer, fuel and temperature guage needles flop from side to side. Would this be from a late 1600?. Regards Paul
  3. On my Mk1 2L Vitesse metal pipe from pump to carbs same route as in 13/60 above, also metal pipe to feed both carbs with short lengths of flexible to join it all up. Never been a problem touch wood, been driving the Vitesse more than the modern during this hot summer, temperature's at times have approached the mid thirties. Regards Paul
  4. Agree three pages on stabilisers is a bit much in my opinion, but then I am a fully paid up MOG (miserable old git). Regards Paul
  5. New ones are chromed brass. Regards Paul
  6. Had to do mine earlier this year, if you want to keep the C1 D1 classification if you have it, depends when you past your test, you will need a Doctor to sign you of as fit. I wasn't bothered as can not remember last time I drove a mini bus or a vehicle up to 7.5 tonne, have heard of people losing motor bike qualification. Take copy of back of old licence as proof of entitlement. New licence has to be renewed every three years. Take it this is thread drift. Regards Paul
  7. Not an ectrician but if connections are the wrong way round the heating coil would have a permanent supply so there would be no supply to the instruments. The diagram would appear to be with the bimetal strip heated. Or am I confused. Regards Paul
  8. Marked my leads and unit with a felt tip before disconnecting, red for port, left, green for starboard, right. Regards Paul
  9. Changed both larger dial bezels now but surprised at how well the old ones cleaned up using a dremel type tool with felt mops and compound. Spoke to one of the supplies who tell me, unsurprisingly there is only one source of supply. Regards Paul
  10. Recently changed or cleaned the bezel on the guages in my Vitesse, the most difficult to remove was the fuel guage followed by the speedo. But the cables to the stabiliser where long enough to disconnect and reconnect before putting the guage in the dash. The bean counters could not have known about this blatant waste of money. Regards Paul
  11. Back of Vitesse speedometer, right terminal, red spot, marked B left marked I. Regards Paul
  12. Has anyone found a sealer which does not crack and can be overpainted for the joint between the rear deck and rear wing on a Vitesse Convertible. Regards Paul

  21. Bought a set of bezels for my Vitesse at one of the Stonleigh shows some time back. Correct half V profile and chrome but depth is different. Four inch old bezel 6.86mm deep new 7.84mm. Two inch old bezel 5.35mm deep new 5.75. Fitted one of the bezels to my rev counter today and used some closed cell black cord of a larger diameter under the glass and between bezel and glass, turned out ok. Made a press from wood and a couple of bolts, and to support the sides of the bezel while knocking the tags over a jubile type clamp with some notches cut in it to give access. Regards Paul
