  1. A bit cool this morning, 09h30 here 08h30 UK time, roof down but windows up sunny morning so very enjoyable. Treated the car to a big drink of petrol as well while out.
  2. Short trip out today to a local restaurant to collect a 'takeaway' - it has a Michelin Bibendum. Tomorrow it will take me for my Covid jab
  3. Not exactly been out in the car for a couple of weeks, weather & household tasks prevented me. Today I did start it and move it to the other side of the courtyard as the roofer is coming tomorrow. Started immediately, so did my smile! Monday I have a Covid jab appointment and if the weather is dry, warm would be a plus, I'm going in the Herald - roof down of course!
  4. A friend of mine has seen an example of a car treated this way, he was very impressed by the way the water just runs off. Pay that sort of money? No, he said unless he had a car worth 250K minimum 😲
  5. Seen other post. I accept I'm wrong - twice 😁
  6. Just spotted this after my comment about main beam. The wiring diagram, if I'm reading it right, has the fuse ahead of the switch, therefore if it blows you have no headlights at all
  7. So you wouldn't have had main beam either then?
  8. Accuspark in my 13/60 since 2015 nothing to say against it.
  9. My 13/60 has a flash function. For flashing in general see Doug's other site
  10. I wondered why the forum colours had changed. I never met the man nor his missus but did once work at one of their 'houses' Buck Palace, many years ago. Was able to have a good look round, perk of the job. The news here has devoted quite a lot of time to his death and his past life. Great respect for him over here.
  11. DVD3500: You're correct. With the proviso about the value limits, I too haven't got my head around that yet. It is made even more confusing as my wife buys lots of embroidery stuff from a firm in Scotland so far not a single centime in taxes, although the orders are quite small as a rule and mostly European manufacture, or at least not declared as other than that. The cars would count as UK manufacture I'm sure. The rules relate to the percentage of the value originating in the UK. This works for goods from the UK to the EU. The other way round ? Good question one would assume the agreement is the same but I can't swear to it, I've had no need to look it up.
  12. You stole that phrase from Benjamin Franklin's FB page !
  13. I've seen the same stuff. In a 60s Sci Fi 'B' film
  14. Do you mean buying them as scrap and exporting them to the UK? If so it would/could be more difficult now you are no longer in Europe. The same would apply to shipping them as cars no doubt.
  15. There's another site that posts the same type of thing. Very annoying as they very often look as if they could be saved, or at least some bits could be.
  16. s collection once it is 30 years old and is fairly standard, same class of engine for example - no fitting a vitesse motor into a Herald.
  17. Hate to be pedantic . . .but . . . Only "vehicles de collection" benefit from the 1960 cut off, "normale" still need one every 2 years. Vehicles de collection newer than that require a CT every 5 years ( normal is 2 years). The Spits, GT6s and I even spotted the back end of what I think was a Stag could be "collection". a car can be classed a
  18. "Zut alors!", "mercredi" ou même "putain de gâchis" A nice little Covid confinement project there, not sure how the 2CV got in. In the few photos that do show number plates apart from those that aren't too damaged to read there is one that I am certain has been 'touched up' to hide the last part of the plate, which would have been the department number where the car was last registered.
  19. In my 13/60 I get in the lower end of the 30's.
  20. Yes, people like that should be banned from the forum they give the rest of us a bad name.
  21. Being retired is worse than working you don't get holidays, sick leave, weekends off, bank holidays . . . It is 7 days a week 52 weeks a year 😒
  22. Arrived here last week-end, we're going to keep it for a good few days yet. If there is any left then we might let you have some as a friendly gesture. As for convertibles being better anti-covid. I have tried it and so far no bad effects, will repeat the experiment at the weekend to double check 😁
