Hub cap removal tool

Really silly question, what do you use to remove the chrome hub caps, just realised that there is nothing in my boot which would do the necessary if I had a puncture - there’s a jack, wheel brace etc. Is it a piece of bent wire wire a hooked end,  a screwdriver,  or a proper tool like

My Herald toolkit included a piece of thin steel bar, about the same dims as a six inch ruler, but had a 1 inch right angle bend at one end, with slightly rounded corners. You put it against the rim of the hubcap and twisted it against the face of the wheel, which popped the cap off. Sorry have'nt got a pic of it - lost it years ago !

I used a bit of metal, about 1/2" wide and 4mm thick (notice what I did there?) and just put a gentle 90 degree bend at one end. I wrapped that area in tape to protect the wheel paint. And that worked a treat.... Never liked a screwdriver, all a bit too much chance of damaging the wheel paint (I had my wheels blasted and freshly painted, so didn't want to damage them)

Bit like this without the fancy handle end:

Wall ties will be too bendy... An old and cheap (ie not hardened) screwdriver would be better and will need heating to red heat when bending. Or a bit of round metal, maybe 6-8mm diameter then with a flat filed at the end? (exhaust U clamp? )
