  1. Another thumbs-up for the Mintex 114 pads. I would also echo Clive's comment with respect to the steering knuckle. Had the same symptom as you describe and found the, original, knuckle worn so ordered a new UJ style one. Apart from the bolt holes not aligning it fails to tighten on the splines by the steering rack; Chris Witor replacement arrives this week! Neither of the above jobs need a specialist. Dick
  2. Give Spitbitz a call, they might be able to help. http://www.spitbitz.co.uk/ Dick
  3. Remember, you will almost certainly be the smallest/lowest car out there and 'they' do not see you; but when they do be prepared to smile/wave particularly to the children in the back! Dick
  4. And TSSC Register Secretaries, who will no doubt help if they do not have them readily available. Support your team. Dick
  5. Second that, he will probably tell you what the problem is over the phone better than EMail. Don't think Mike was doing anybodies but private customers and Canley's if I recall correctly. Dick
  6. The same result for the one I fitted to my GT6, very pleased. Dick
  7. Did that over lockdown, and a piece of clingfilm under the master cylinder cap meant no fluid loss in the process. Dick
  8. You could also try Spit Bitz for your trim; a phone call is better than the website. Dick
  9. But not on my Mk1 and came up with a similar solution to Pete's. Dick
  10. Fully understood that's why I was just using Forum members, no takers and they will stay in the garage. Dick
  11. Having a sort out and if anybody on the Forum is looking for the bar springs for the rear quarter bumpers (NLA on Canley's site) or the rear wing finishers (stainless originals not chrome) I will bring them along. All for a GT6 Mk1. Also have a new set of TR6 coolant hoses in red silicon; don't ask! Dick
  12. 'Wooden gearknob' and it came up straight away. Dick
  13. It's what PG Wodehouse was known as, whose house when he lived in Emsworth is just around the corner from from mine. Dick
  14. Why? Surely this is a divisive and just when this Forum has become the most vibrant it has been in my 15 years of using it and promoted accordingly in The Courier. Dick
  15. Assume we have now moved into memories of the Rolling Stones?
  16. I also think many of us get 'irritated' by a particular supplier and eventually over the years settle on one or two (the Club shop, Canley & Paddocks in my case) where if there is a problem it gets sorted without grief. Just looking at ££££ is not the answer, but seems to be the default for some and then surprised if it does not fit. Dick
  17. Hole in the float or it has detached itself from the arm?
  18. And if you are anywhere near Duxford on 27 September, introduce yourself and you will be overwhelmed with advice! Dick
  19. Is it me but have never had the rear window on my GT6 mist up whatever the weather or time of year. However, always keep the ventilation level up. Dick
  20. Like Graham I went the cheap and cheerful route, a NextBase 212 from Aldi. Seems to be lasting, fits up close to the rear view mirror in the GT6 and having played it back on a PC picture quality is excellent, can read number plates fine and the audio was impressive given the noise level in the car.
  21. But from bitter Land Rover experience be wary of Britpart items, particularly if the price 'seems' right. Dick
  22. If you wet the surface with a dab of resin then place the woven mat in place, and as Richard says do not try and over correct or fiddle (only you will see it). Better if you use acetone to clean it down beforehand and then use that to clean brushes, and your hands if you forget to use throw away gloves! Dick
  23. Send the complete unit back, refund and source from elsewhere (Canley?), and a negative 'customer feedback' on the web site. I know all the debates on that one but should make them sit up.
