We do seem to have a little problemo...maybe

Hope its condensation, but think it isnt.

If the gasket leaks im pretty sure already from where.

More inspection this evening..

Oil in the sump is like new.

Saturday ran the engine for the first time.

Shut it off and after 30min i looked at the oil... clean.

Sunday morning came back to the car, checked oil.. a very very little bit white.

Under the valve cover a bit wet.

Re-torqued the head and adjusted valves.

Will see what it gives, otherwise its head off on friday evening.

Yeah, have the T-shirt on stuck bolts for bushes and trunions. Amazing how a 1 minute job can turn into the hardest part or make a simple job into major one!

Is there anything left to do now? Very impressed with the way you have kept the car on the road.

Still needs a bit of bodywork and then  paint...

And... always something

Oh yeah... funds to do it all 🙃😅

A few more jobs done yesterday.

Installed my new dizzy and electronic ignition.

Then took the front wheels off to clean them and inspect the front brakes.

Sadly my Mintex M1144's are on there last legs.

And more sadly, i cant get them here in europe 😕.

Do now have a set of EBC greenstuff to go on, but discs will need changing to.

Also... my front Revolution wheel are getting oxidation (paint falling off) on the inside.

Going to ask around to get them refurbed.

Or.. if I can do it myself... 😅😅

Shame the 10CR is not more immenent, we could have brought some 1144s over to you. Have you considered Ferodo ds2500 or performance? my ds 2500 are excellent and seem to be lasting indefinitely, probably 20K on them and about half worn.

Yep the most stupid of things catch us out, needed 9 stitch’s on the side of my hand because Whilst using the bench grinder the small vice that sits on the drill press plate started to fall off went to grab it missed and sliced the top and side of hand little blood just very jagged around 1.5 in long. Murphy is always there just waiting for an opportunity to wreak havoc!

Wimpus hope all goes well and sorry to hear about your accident but I must admit when using angle grinder I do now glove up and glass’s, even a Dremmel cutting disc sometimes fail by the disc tearing on the spindle and flying off.

Seen two grinder discs shatter in the last year but none in the ten years or so before. Just wondering if the discs themselves could be at fault. We use dozens of them down the Swindon & Cricklade Railway. Hoping your injury is only temporary Wimpus and you will be back fully able very soon.

Sorry to hear that wimpus, I hope it heals quickly, after the op keep it dry I've found it heals things faster, ask me how I know.(50 years in mid to heavy engineering  might have something  to do with it)

Decided to dig out a project that i started some months ago..

Uograding the heater blower motorbyo a Smart/Bosch item.

Now fixed the original Smiths fan to the new motor.

Now to install it with 1 hand 😅

Then see for a PWM motor controller, ordered one from China.

I did make the adaptor months ago to.

Did all the testing on a spare heaterbox (mk3 one).
