  1. I think you may need to have to remove gearbox, check everything and then order as required, a few items are very expensive. I many be able to loan / supply a few of the bits. check the prices first!!!
  2. Pete, shopping list new pin (obviously!!) you can different versions. Oversize and hardened amongst them 2 new cross shaft bearings, just add them to existing ones, or get the wider version from Chris Witor. Spare cross shaft just in case you need to get Mr Grinder out spare fork in case Mr Grinder comes back for a second visit. replacement bushes for the fork. Might be round or square. spare bearing carrier in case yours is worn ( likely if it has round fork bushes, less likely if square from a later gearbox. ) You could also do the extra roll pin mod to the carrier New clutch kit Change of gearbox oil. whilst apart drill a hole in bottom of fork hole so you can drift out the next broken pin more easily. you could go for the second bolt at 90 degrees if you want to go the whole hog. Is now the time to fit a better tunnel if yours is a selection of bits of cardboard taped together. Colin
  3. Pete, I mean the to say in the email, I wonder if the pin has snapped, you can get a clue by angles of the lever, and if you pop the slavecylinder actuatir rod out so you can move shaft by hand, if pin has broken it may have a notchy action as you push back and forth, rather than a solid stop a time each extremity.
  4. Did you check the bypass pipe behind the manifold?
  5. I had a set of Maxxis on an earlier 2000, got them at cost as sponsorship for a CT RBRR. Really good. Got given a set for free in 2018 for another RBRR, again perform well above the cost ( had we paid for them)
  6. I suspect it was to make them look much more "upmarket " to help justify the price. Also side repeater indicator's are very useful, especially on long-nosed sports cars.
  7. Guy who does my MoT was discussing just such things, he reckoned the problem is that all the newer 4*4 drive like cars, so people assume that they are, especially going round corners. He said when the Discovery 3 came out loads went through hedges as the owners got it wrong. If you met the same corner at the speed they did in the 3 in a Discovery 1 or 2 you would soil yourself so you never did. My Disco 1 will sit all day towing a trailer at 50mph on the straight stuff, and I see great at pulling Triumphs round the garden, but feels like it will fall over at 30mph on the twisty stuff.
  8. Some of the early SC actually had a tubular manifold as standard, suspect it was got at by the bean counters. TC is cast iron standard one, You will need a different camshaft, but not as easy as just fitting a Mk3 / TC one, as they run in bearings, which your block doesn't have. Also compression is up a bit. Triumph also fitted the TC with a servo, I drove a TC with the servo removed many years ago, brakes weren't great.
  9. I would say the bearing housings are on too far. put a drum on and take another photo, that will help show.
  10. I will ask my question again... 🙂 they really are important.
  11. Oil dripping from gearbox drain plug is sometimes engine oil blown backwards off the backplate. oil on backplate is sometimes running down rear of engine from rocker cover or the usual leak from rear of head gasket.
  12. Have you got the side valences and frontal scoop fitted?
  13. I a man sure there are screws on the "knee-breaker" steering locks as well, will have to go and look at a spare.
  14. Just connect To the battery, the 5v is done inside the box of tricks, and it will be that trickery that will slowly drain the battery
  15. It îs 2 black plastic button clips, 1 at each end. The push in and expand another clip
  16. I am still of the opinion that the rules on LED headlightbulbs will be revisited again very soon. The MOT rules seem to overrule Construction and Use regs. Especially as there is no.mention on units that are not E marked
  17. Are the calipers repro ones or recon genuine ones? If repro and 18 months old they will be the problem.
  18. Those Bastuck hubs and studs are German, and made to theOEM TUV requirements I believe. 😞
  19. Looks like it hasn't been retaxed in last 5 years, nor placed on SORN. Not looking so good I would say.
  20. In the tool chest with a large label tied to it saying "J-Type Spanner"
  21. They look like crimp connectors to me, not spade
  22. You can get Cibie ones in both sizes, though may not now be labelled as such. And really good headlights to boot. Euro Car Parts used to do the 7's on offer a while ago which helped.
  23. As long as it is hidden it shouldn't matter what shape it is I would have
  24. Can you get full photos of each side? We can see exactly what you have. I suspect that may be a Vanguard engine perhaps?
