  1. Sounds as though you're absolutely fine on temps - wouldn't mess any further! I would, however, sort the pinking - lean running can lead to hotter running. Gully PS. In this hot weather my GT6 runs around the 2/3 mark and I can watch the temperature modulation of the thermostat on the gauge. Even sitting in traffic on a hot day it doesn't move above 3/4 - 40+ years old gauges really are just an indication. Many moderns don't even have them - just a warning light - and those that do have heavily damped ones
  2. I see on Facebook that Jigsaw Racing is looking after the car whilst it's over here. Gully
  3. No personal experience, but I have heard on the grapevine that some of them are too tall and hit the underside of the bonnet. Gully
  4. Seem to recall it being in the tens of pounds, but subject to them having an appropriate filler neck. Gully

    The Apocalypse

According to the Radio 4 forecast tonight they have low confidence in the weekend's weather predictions due to tropical air approaching. Looks like sunshine and light showers at the moment, which should make the touring cars at Rockingham interesting ? No doubt Monday's weather 'forecast' will major on what happened over the weekend! Gully
  6. My GT6 used to judder when reversing - I found the offside engine mount had de-bonded. Having recently replaced it, the judder has gone, so worth a look before you delve deeply unnecessarily. Gully
  7. I generally view the forum on a tablet (iPad) and there's an Unread Content button top right of the boards which lists most recent first. Hope that helps! Gully

Standard fitment for the Lotus Europa was individual letters mounted on the grill mesh. Gully
  9. Welcome aboard! If you get a chance to post some pictures of your cars that would be great ? Gully
  10. I'm putting off changing my clutch slave cylinder as I can't face the tunnel out hassle in this warm weather. Must be the final component that hasn't been changed over the past 5 years! What's really irritating is that 14 months ago I put it back together so well I needed to use the heater through the winter! Gully
  11. Kempston Radiators at Bedford seem a good bet. I need to drop my 'spare' rad into them at some point to get the filler neck replaced as the flange over which the cap tightens has fractured. It also has a very small leak on the core, which is irritating as it occurred about 15 months after I'd bought it as a recored / refurbished / upgraded one (via an advert in The Courier). I did speak to them about it a while ago and they quoted me a reasonable amount, but not got around to delivering it to them after I acquired a NOS one from a local club member. A friend of mine in Tewin recommended them - they've done a couple of classic and race car rads for him over the past few years. Gully
  12. It was the Ye Three Fyshes in Turvey alongside the river. Driven past on a few occasions since and there's never been a band playing! Gully
  13. I think Pete's answered the question in the title - the seats aren't handed, but the runners / attachment fittings are, so have to be swapped over. And the side on which the seat is being used dictates the set of fixing holes adopted. Gully
  14. My daughter's Halfords booster seat / cushion is a perfect fit on the GT6 seats - when said cushion is rotated 180 degrees so the front is against the seat back! Mind you, we were lucky in that we bought one whilst booster cushions alone were available - now they all come with backs. We have got a full-on child seat with all the fandango wrap-around cocoon bits too, which gets used when my wife's driving or we're doing long holiday journeys. Gully
  15. Also clear in my diary - looking forward to the third instalment! Gully
  16. Bought mine from Rimmers - just the job. Gully
  17. Sorry, I've never used it (but hopefully my replying will bump your question up the list a bit!). Gully
  18. Welcome aboard! Looks a fascinating project, and another one saved! Gully
  19. Check with the club shop - I seem to recall they were offering the equivalent of the Lucas 22D6 (which has vacuum advance and tacho drive) with electronic innards. Sourced from H+H Ignition IIRC. Gully
  20. Caveat emptor - always... Gully

    The Apocalypse

Rain is pounding down here this morning in the Lake District - should stop by the time we go home next Saturday! Strangely enough, none of the grass here is that beautiful golden colour of home... Gully
  22. The postage and packing costs charged by different companies are becoming a differentiator - increasingly more frequently than the parts costs. I'm sure it's not by coincidence that Canleys, Rimmers and Paddocks all run their online portals in a slightly different manner so VAT and delivery are added at different points in the transactions. Then there's the question of whether or not the company tries to recover part of the wage costs of the person doing the picking and packing via the delivery charges. If the company is handling a lot of orders they can do so with only a small inflation in the p&p cost, but somewhere like the club shop is not going to be able to do that and remain competitive, although I suspect they benchmark against other online suppliers.
